Fantastic Voyage: Pre Vis - W/O Sound
Full pre vis without sounds, I am going to render this in draft to show how the scenes are together with the lighting and the textures this is just to show the movement and the camera positioning and transitions :)
Scene 03: Fern Growth Previs
I have edited the ending of my animation to show the growth of the fern as it pulls back to release more spores into the landscape with the spores heading into the camera to show the cycle restarts. I am unsure how to light this scene though as I want the surrounding area to become less dark and more of a green colour to show that the landscape is given back life from this fern I had done some experimenting but didnt manage to achieve the look I wanted. Furthermore I will experiment with rim lighting my scenes and then onto my final renders for my animation :)

Fantastic Voyage: Scene 02 - Spore Release Pre Vis
In the animation in Maya the floor is a lot darker and more atmospheric than in the photos but overal this is the movement for the spore release scene and the images show how it is going to look when rendered. I feel it may be a bit too slow but when the voice over is applied it may be the right timing

Fantastic Voyage: Fern Scene 01 - Update
Here are some renders from the scene that is updated, I applied a gradient to fog colour to make it feel a bit more atmospheric but blogger seems to brighten the images in the render it is a lot darker at the bottom of the screen (like the screen shot down below).
Overall I feel this looks a lot better with the darker atmosphere and I have included falling ember and ash particles in the scene too, now I will focus on my Pre-Vis and getting the movement blocked out for the rest of my animation now I know how my animation is going to look visually. I have also slowed down the movement of the camera as suggested. I was thinking of maybe repositioning the fern hunched over a log or maybe covered in ashes to boost the overall survival aspect of the fern in my animation. Any suggestions or feedback is welcomed :)

Fantastic Voyage: 01 Fern Scene - Test render
I want to try and create atmosphere within these shots and for the whole animation to have an atmospheric feel to it, with the first render i felt the fog was too thick so I turned it down for the second render whilst also altering the composition of the fern within the shot.
I want to create a feel like a big light source through a paper like they would traditionally to create shadow puppet animation and similarly in 'The Three Brothers' animation in harry potter, but Im not sure how to achieve this, I may have the main light source flicker almost like it is a candle that is lighting the whole scene as this will also go alongside the burnt landscape visuals. I will be using after effects to make ashes too arise around the landscape to help reinforce the burnt landscape.
Fantastic Voyage: 01 Fern Scene - untextured playblast
Playblast of the scene introducing the fern, where in my animatic it was a long pan of the trees I wanted to make it more dynamic going through the scenery to then introduce the fern. There is a scene before this with the narrator talking introducing the scene, I will focus on that scene next and focus on getting my pre-vis movement done over the course of the next couple of days :)
